Sensitive Teeth

Struggling from sensitivity, pain or discomfort?

Sensitive teeth are typically the result of exposed tooth roots or worn tooth enamel. Sometimes, however, tooth discomfort is caused by other factors, such as a cracked or chipped tooth, a cavity, a worn filling, or gum disease.

At Lady Margaret Road Dental Surgery we recommend visiting your dentist in Southall to get it checked out. In some cases, they can detect a potential oral health problem before it develops and becomes harder to treat.

SYMPTOMS OF SENSITIVE TEETH

Sensitivity in your teeth can often mean the inner dentin layer of your tooth is exposed. This often occurs when the tooth’s white protective layer of enamel has worn away. Some signs of sensitive teeth may include;

  • Pain or discomfort
  • Sharp pain that comes and goes
  • Cold or hot food and drinks trigger the pain
  • Sweet and acidic foods can also aggravate
