ENDODONTICS

Specialising in treatment for the root of the problems.

An endodontist is a specialist in the dental treatment of the inside of the root of a tooth (or the ‘pulp’). They focus on maintaining the health of your teeth by carrying out procedures to eradicate the disease of the dental pulp (or ‘endodontic’ treatment).

WHAT IS ENDODONTICS?

Endodontic treatment is the dental treatment of the inside of the tooth (or pulp). The pulp contains the nerves and blood vessels of the tooth. Treatment is needed to save the tooth when the pulp becomes infected or damaged. Endodontists are specialists in removing the inflamed or infected pulp, then disinfecting, shaping, filling and sealing the inside of the tooth.

Most commonly known for the following treatments and procedures;

  • Root Canal Treatment
  • Diagnosis of toothache and pain
  • Treatment of abscessed teeth, cracked teeth and dislodged teeth
  • Management of teeth that have been knocked out or traumatized
